Walk this way! (insert crazy Steven Tyler expressions here)

The woods have a beautiful and exquisite way of letting us linger with our breath, drop the weight of our burdens to it’s strong earthy floor and sink deep into the throne of our soul’s royal palace. I find that it is within the woods that I not only find the beauty and awe of the creator, this bold, magnificent universe, but that I also find that same beauty and light in myself – for all we not all connected. One radiant energy, emerging and manifesting through creative and explorative outlets.

As my lovely coach always says: We are Souls having a Human experience. ❤

Working from home, it is soooo easy to get trapped in the house all day. Nose deep in work and then bam! it’s night time. I’ll admit that there are days that I never step foot outside the house – but I like to keep those days as few and far between as possible. One of my regular “out-of-the-house” activities includes a walk. Most days it’s a meandering 30 minute walk through the park and neighborhoods near my house. Sometimes I incorporate a few foothill trails and sometimes still I climb a mountain. Walking, running, hiking: they have always had a proofed effect on mediating my mind chatter and getting clear headed to make my next move (which is important if you want to continue to grow – which I do!).

Most of the time I like to walk in silence, hearing nature and my surroundings. Sometimes I do like to listen to music. I pick an artist or album to fit my mood and pretend that I am in a movie montage of my life as I walk. Other times I will try to kick my walk up a notch and try to match my strides to the beat of the music – or just break out and dance down the side walk!

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away.” ― Henry David Thoreau

Don’t stay stuck in the house any longer! If you are able, set aside 30 minutes a day to just get outside! Good for your body & soul – not to mention the healthy doses of Vitamin D!

Do you already participate in an outdoor activity? How often do you do it? What do you love most about it?
